From Bryan Blacksher: “Before Thanksgiving I finished this project. It is made of solid red oak. The tricky part was the curved arch that extends back to the tile. It was done using the bent wood lamination techinque which John Rieger advised me on.”

Nice work! I redid our fireplaces a couple of years ago and it really made a big difference in updating the appearance of our house. I like your design!
Nice Bryan, How did you account for the spring back when you did the bending? Did you create the bend piece first then cut the face piece or were you able to get the bend just right to match?
