Lake maps of the area

Tried this one this afternoon. snazzy maps dot com. Did the burn and poured in some epoxy, about a 1.5 to 2mm burn in a round live edge and prepped it with burnt linseed oil first.

Should be dry tomorrow night to sand and finish.

I have two kinds of pigment: liquid pigment and mica powder. The former is clear unless I mix it with the white which brings in opacity. The latter is always cloudy with opaque swirl personailty. You show a liquid dropper but the blue lake has visible texture. Did you mix a color and white to get that effect or do you have color liquid pigments that do that alone?

My mica pigments came in this kit.

My liquid dies came in this kit.

I’m relatively new to working with epoxy so I’m curious.

Alcohol pigment is good for a coloring I’m finding but the pearl powders cover the rainbow and more…gives it that extra pop over plain pigment. Alcohol pigment has a place but for the lakes I really like the latter
