Engineered Hardwood Flooring

I’m looking to install engineered hardwood flooring ontop of a concrete slab via glueing. Is there a preferred vapor barrier anyone knows of or a glue with a vapor barrier mixed in that anyone has experience with and knows works great? Thanks for any help!

“It’s a really bad idea to glue engineered wood to concrete. Concrete still draws moisture and can make the wood shrink and swell. Most flooring today has interlocking joinery that you connect together, and place over a common flooring vapor barrier you can get a Lowes or Home Depot. I typically see flooring glued to a plywood substrate, and they make specialized glue just for this that they sell in flooring department.“

I watched the professional install guys from Flooring Direct. Installed engineered hardwood New York Loft made by Provenza. They surface ground the slab using a straight edge to check for any discontinuity. Then washed the slab and dried it with a large shop vac. Adhesive used was 5 gallon buckets of Bostics Best. A great job and 4 years later the floor is rock solid and quiet to walk on.
