Next Digital Tools SIG

Looking for input on an agenda for the next Digital Tools SIG.
There was a suggestion 3-D milling on our CNCs.
Sound interesting? Has anybody here been doing a lot of this?

This is example of the sort of STL-based carving …

Off and on I have been doing 3D carving. I have made several eagles, an eagle head, plaques, etc. I have used both models I have purchased and developed my own models using Vectric Aspire. Dependent on what the Digital SIG wants to discuss, and the time of the meeting, I may be able to provide some insights. Lett me know what people want to hear about with their feedback to your notice here and I will let you know if I have any insights I can share.

Couple examples below

Have a great day.

Has anyone purchased the 200GB CNC model kit? a quote from a forum: “There are a few free files kicking around, but the best collections I’ve seen are in a 200gb pack a guy sells on This Facebook Group . it’s $350 for 200gb,”

I like the idea of landscapes like the example mostly because they can be done with many of the tools we have and the shop has. They can be CNCed, they can be sliced into layers and laser cut and there was interest in epoxy pours to enhance along with laser cutting colored acrylic. Lots of ways to do amazing landscapes.
