Looks like it could provide some desirable effects when doing engraving. From what I gathered it will follow the contour of the shapes and offset the laser for each pass instead of doing straight lines.
I’m engraving some cutting boards and doing the last one now but just saw the option. Looks interesting and the effect would likely change the appearance of the wood. Both in that it would get hotter as the laser stayed in the area longer and that the cut marks would follow the contour of the design.
