I am getting closer to this being a very good setup. I wrote a Post Processor so I can use aspire or vcarve to send the file to Mach 3 to do the laser cutting. Extremely sharp lines.

Howard, it has been a few months, now. How are you liking your Opt Laser mod for the Shapeoko?
I noticed J Tech also has a kit and I wondered if you are happy with your choice or having second thoughts?

I really like the opt laser unit. For engraving it has been perfect. I have not been able to do photos with it due to my setup. I am working on going to Mach 4 and I think I will be able to make the photos work there.
So, by your response I am guessing that you cannot send the Laser code to the Shapeoko/OptLaser via CarbideMotion? Have you tried LightBurn?

I dont have a shapeoko but I think they have a setup for that. Go to Opt lasers website and they will tell you if they do.
