Review of Inlay Design for a Cutting Board

I’m making a few cutting boards for christmas gifts that include inlays. I have a design ready for the first one using vcarve 12. I have not done an inlay yet. I do have some extra wood to experiment with if needed. Can I get someone to review my cutting board vcarve file to see if it looks good? I’m open to any suggestions/comments/critiques.

I’ve done a few using the new Vcarce Inlay tool path. The important things I’ve learned are 1) if input defining the toolpath won’t work then the software will say so and 2) a second Sheet needs to be defined and then selected in the toolpath definition. This second step is not obvious and I know others who have not noticed it, produced superimposed results (both male and female on the same stock) and gave up in frustration.

Do some test cuts for confidence and good luck!

I was able to figure out your 2 suggestions. I also found that when defining the inlay path you can define an offset for the plug. I like that option. I do need to practice since I have not successfully created an inlay project with previous versions of vcarve. I have a couple of smaller practice projects set up to try, hopefully this week.
