A few tips Richard Wilk passes along:
Tip #1 - Use squeeze bottles or disposable pipettes to put the epoxy into the channels in your wood.
Tip #2 - Make sure you mix the epoxy long enough
I usually use scrapers to shape the epoxy on the lathe, and then work through sanding grits from 120 to 6000, followed up with the fiberglass liquid polish used on cars with a foam pad, and then car wax.
