Think the reclaimed is my favorite

I guess you all soon fall into the one thing you like over the others. For me the reclaimed barn, flooring etc. wood has quickly became my favorite items to burn. Setting change on all of it so my note book of filling up fast on my burn notes though lol

The fact that you’re even trying grey scale and getting good results … impressive!

It took some time and a practice section of wood just to get it to turn out. Sure used up a bunch of paper in notes lol

Looks like you are making awesome progress with your laser. Although I purchased the Ortur, I have only really tried anything with it once. I need to get back to it, but my time when not working is consumed with trying to learn as much as I can about mastering the CNC for various projects. What a vast array of possibilities there are between the right tools, enough time, and endless creativity between this group. I want to get back to the laser soon, but still trying to master various options with the CNC. I will likely be asking a couple questions on the board soon. i look forward to your post so that when I transition back to the laser I have a storage of knowledge to tap into. thanks again for your post and helping the rest of us know how the journey is going and the insights you are gaining.

I can really see how laser work would be that added touch to your work once you get it down pat. From everything from your Logo on the back to small touches to make it pop out over others work. Small things always seem to pop out that I’m missing and that’s just due to me not paying attention. The E in agriculture is missing on the mirror clock I posted. One of the sign makers pointed it out…thank goodness before it went out the door. Lightburn and image-R has helped out a lot. Let me know when you pull yours out and I’ll help as much as I can. I have notes on wood tile glass and reclaimed wood with finishes on them is you need them. Good luck

Can you tell us what image-R is and does?

When I get back home from work today I’ll pull it up and give you the information on how I prep my work for the laser.
