Using Carbide Create Backgrounds for Design

I was preparing some stock for a class and ended up with a chunk of leftover.
While it wasn’t particularly useful, I thought it looked nice and had an idea.
Setting it as a properly scaled background, I designed a Vcarve for epoxy.

Below is a brief visual depiction of the process:

After setting the above image as background, I applied an Advanced VCarve toolpath.

The generic Pine simulation looked as it should.

I then cut it and it turned out just as you saw in the second picture above.

Add a little epoxy. Apply a little finish. My scrap turned out rather nicely.

That said, it’s a pretty pointless project. :innocent:

I like it. It would be in my den. (Right about the height of my forehead.)
